There’s a fundamental difference between content that humans read and content that AI can cite. Most websites are optimized for the first and invisible to the second. Content structure is part of what we call AI Answerability — the second layer of the AI visibility framework.

The Problem

AI models don’t browse. They extract. When ChatGPT answers “what does this business charge for their service,” it looks for a specific number in a specific context. If your pricing is in a JavaScript widget, a PDF download, or hidden behind “contact us for pricing” — AI has nothing to cite.

The Fix

Write in answer-first format. Lead with the fact, then explain it. Structure your pages with clear headings that match the questions AI asks. Use specific numbers, not vague claims.

Before and After

Before: “We offer competitive pricing on all our services.” After: “Our standard consultation is $150 for 60 minutes. Package pricing starts at $500 for 4 sessions.”

The second version gives AI something to cite. The first gives it nothing.
